Exercise with "Get"
The verb get is very common in informal English. If necessary,
use a dictionary and find verbs which mean the same thing as the phrases
with get in the sentences below.
- Everybody laughed at the joke, but I didn't get it.
- While you take a bath I'll get supper
- Do you know how much you'll get for working late?
- What time do you get off work tonight?
- The Browns have decided to get a new dishwasher.
- Do you get any junk mail?
- Everybody will get old and grey one day.
- The train leaves soon, so it's time to get a move on.
- John tried to help me with my computer, but we didn't get
anywhere.
- Our families will get together next week.
