Pubs are an important cultural aspect of life in England.

In this module you will have a chance to listen to Ingrid as she interviews the owner of an English pub. They talk about pub food, brewers and breweries, export of pubs, football’s relation to pub life and pub signs. Ingrid usually introduces the subject by giving some historical background.

Can you think of a similar phenomenon in your own culture? Your assignment is to write a 400-600 word essay about some cultural aspect of your country. Choose a cultural aspect such as coffee drinking, sports or food. Begin by giving some historical background to the subject and continue by writing about the subject’s relevance today.
