Assignment 6: English in the World Today

There are two different types of assignment offered in this module: the production of an information packet or an academically written essay. The common denominator is that both assignments are based on information from an English speaking country of your choice.

Begin by reading the definition of English speaking countries, looking at the list of countries and by checking the useful links.

Choose one of the following two tasks:

Task 1

If you are interested in producing an Information Packet for Work Abroad click here or in the menu on the left . Your finished product should be between 800 and 1000 words.

Task 2

If you are interested in academic writing you should read Resources for Academic Writing that can be found in the menu on the left. The sections on The Structure of Academically Written Reports and Essays and Formalities are particularly useful. Suggestions for topics can be found under Aspects of Society. Your paper should be between 800 and 1000 words and follow the instructions for report writing regarding language and layout.
