Appropriate Language

When you write a report, you must make sure that the language you use fits the subject of the report and the context in which the report will appear.

The following passage is the introduction to a government report which has been re-written in a colloquial, everyday style.

Examine the passage and consider how it could be re-written in a more appropriate way.
